ABOUT DR. VERN FALBY
Dr. Falby encourages listeners to consciously notice the multi-aspectual, layered aural design of entire pieces, with the ultimate goal of enhancing music making and its effect on audiences. He has pursued this work for over thirty years in his project Thinking by Ear: Strategies for Music Making, working with students, in professional schools of music, and in private practice. The goal is to transform our experience of music, from series of notes in a row, into pieces that move audiences: unfolding processes to actively follow, learn and learn from, recreate or create anew.
