Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Encore's travel is suspended in 2020 and 2021.
In 2008, near the end of Encore's inaugural year, 25 Encore singers crossed the Atlantic on board the magnificent Queen Mary 2. Every morning, they rehearsed their music and, on the final day of the voyage, performed a concert at high tea in the Queen's Room. Thus began a tradition. Every year since, Encore singers have traveled the world exploring and performing. Encore singers have cruised the Caribbean, taken river cruises across Europe, including Austria, Belgium, The Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Morocco, Slovakia, and Switzerland. Most recently, Encore traveler explored Spain and Portugal.
Encore's travel highlights have included singing at the American Cemetery in Normandy; a concert in an awe-inspiring abey in Rouen, France; performances with the American Festival in Prague, the Melk Abbey, Vienna, and with the Bitburger Brewery Men's Choir, and riding in vintage cars in Havana, Cuba (photo), to name a few. 2019's trip to England included performances on the Queen Mary 2 and joint concerts with the Bath Male Choir and Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir.
While current membership in an Encore choral program is generally not required to travel with Encore, participants must have learned in advance the music to be performed in concerts.
