Rocks2018 1Encore rockers took Annapolis by storm last year for our First Annual Rock & Roll "Summer Camp" - a sellout. Everyone had a ball, but don't take our word for it. Here's what one participant said: "There were so many wonderful aspects to the camp that it's difficult/impossible for me to pick one...so I'll say that the entire camp was outstanding. The singers came prepared and were enthusiastic about the music. Also, I thought that the ENCORE staff were exceptional and their kindness and attention to details played a huge role in making the camp a wonderful experience. And Jeff...was his dynamic self.We have a lot more comments just like this one, so don't miss out. Register now before it's too late.

Encore's Second Annual Rock and Roll Summer Camp for singers 55+ during the week of August 5th - 9th, 2019 at St. John’s College in historic Annapolis, MD ("I loved having the Camp at St. John's College in Annapolis. Such a beautiful, historic, walkable town!"). Do not miss this wonderful opportunity to work with dynamic conductor and Encore ROCKS Director Jeff Dokken, and many other guest artists.

If you love to sing, love Rock ‘n’ Roll, and want to have a great time with like-minded singers age 55 + for five days of learning, rehearsals, performances and fun, this is for you! PriRocks2018 5or membership in an Encore ROCKS chorus is not required: anyone may attend.

This camp is totally unique from any other Encore Summer program. This awesome week will include sessions about the history and culture of rock, and of course, diving deep into the melodies, harmonies and rhythms of the rock repertoire during fun and intensive daily rehearsals. The week ends with a rockin’ finale concert!

The St. John's campus is truly beautiful and within walking distance to the entire historic district of downtown Annapolis. This camp will be available as either a commuter camp or a four-night stay in a fabulous historic hotel. Non-singers are welcomed to join their singing spouses/partners for the program.

Singers will rehearse twice daily in the glorious Great Hall in the historic McDowell Hall at St. John’s.

Rocks2018 7All meals will be together for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meals will be held on campus at Randall Hall. We will not be sharing the dining hall with other groups, so we will have this wonderful space all to ourselves. Hotel accommodations will be offered through the Historic Inns of Annapolis. There will be shuttle service available between the campus and the hotel.

The fun does not stop when the singing ends! Encore singers will come together each day, either in the afternoon or evening, for an exciting concert, show, or activity planned just for us! The institute will conclude Friday afternoon when singers perform a rockin’ choral concert for friends, family and the local community in the heart of Annapolis.

Encore offers this unique five-day experience for an all-inclusive price. Your registration fee includes lodging, meals, all educational programs, opening welcome reception, evening recitals, Encore polo shirt, music and rehearsal CD, and grand finale concert.
