This upcoming spring 2022 season will be one of Encore's most thrilling yet. We will be celebrating Encore's 15th anniversary and founder Jeanne Kelly. Jeanne has been working with Artistic Director Brian Isaac in planning a “Best of Encore” choral season that will culminate with a concert at Strathmore Music Center in North Bethesda, MD on May 14, 2022. This season will be about making great music together and showing gratitude and preparing for the future.
Registration is officially open for both in-person and online rehearsals. Click on the link below to register.
A few things to note:
All singers and conductors must show proof of full vaccination, including boosters.
Registration for all in-person live singing rehearsal is open. We have a new Chorale in Wilmington, DE with with former Associate Artistic Director David Simmons; and a new ROCKS, DC ROCKS, with Jeff Dokken. We are so excited to launch these new locations since COVID and hope to see many more in the future.

To continue this offering and make it sustainable we had to adjust tuition slightly. The cost of tuition for all online rehearsals with the option to perform live at Strathmore is $160 per chorale and $160 per ROCKS offering.
Another adjustment we have made is if you choose to do an in person chorale or ROCKS and add an additional online experience with either chorale or ROCKS it will be the full tuition cost of both offerings. Tuition cost for (1) in person season and (1) online season will be $350 total.
- All live and online rehearsals are separate from a new and expanded Encore University program. Registration is now open for EU as well. There are many fun and informative classes and workshops for you to explore.

Annapolis, MD— August 16, 2021 — Nearly 15 years ago, Jeanne Kelly began with an idea, while sitting at her dining room table. Today, that concept, Encore Creativity for Older Adults, has grown into the nation’s largest nonprofit choral arts organization for older adults. As founder and Artistic Director, Kelly has shepherded Encore to a level that has exceeded even her own expectations. Now, having created an incredible legacy, she has decided it is the time to retire.
“I believe in the power of music to make a better world. So, it is with great sadness and joy that I announce my retirement as Artistic Director of Encore Creativity for Older Adults,” stated Kelly. “Encore has been the pinnacle of my career and has created so many fabulous memories.”
Under Kelly’s leadership with support from her husband Larry Kelly, Encore has grown to 22 local chorales across Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, and New York; plus, affiliates in Hudson, Ohio; Littleton and Highland Park, Colorado and Santa Clarita, California. An estimated 2000 singers participate in this artistic enrichment program. Highlights of the past years include concert tours that have taken chorales to locations in Europe, including Bath, England; the Czech Republic; Vienna, Austria; and Rouen, France; as well as Cuba, Canada and more. These trips helped to forge international friendships and made lasting musical reminiscences. Other high points have included concerts in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall;
