Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival
Concerts on tour will be presented as part of the Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival - Ireland’s national celebration of the arts and creativity as we age. Age & Opportunity is a national charitable organization established in 1988 to promote healthy, happy and productive aging in Irish communities. Each year they coordinate a Bealtaine Festival (http://www.Bealtaine.ie) during the month of May, a festival established to encourage and celebrate older adults’ engagement with the arts.
The Mayo International Choral Festival

We are in discussions with them to present one concert as part of their festival. This concert may also be presented as part of the Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival. The festival is supported by Mayo County Council, Castlebar Municipal District Council, Ashford Castle and numerous other sponsors.

Physical Activity, Accessibility and Mobility Issues
Some of Ireland’s historic sites, such as abbeys, castles and ruins, may not be as accessible as modern attractions. Castles and towers may have a first floor that is accessible; however, they are less likely to have lifts. The itinerary includes long touring days with many full-day motor coach excursions (Ring of Kerry for example). You should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during city tours, museum visits, and/or outdoor activities. There will be walking over sometimes difficult terrain (e.g. cobblestones, city hills, stairs without handrails, absence of elevators); some longer walks to get to city centers where coaches are prohibited. Any disability requiring special attention should be reported to us at the time the reservation is made. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of disabled tour participants, but we are not responsible in the event we are unable to do so. As our coaches are not equipped with ramps, all tour members must be able to mount 3 or 4 steps into the motor-coach. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to atour member for walking, dining, getting on and off motor-coaches and other transportation vehicles, or other personal needs. Travelers who need such assistance must be accompanied by a qualified companion. At any time you wish not to continueor want to sit out an activity, you are certainly welcome to do so.
