If you love to sing, love Rock and Roll, and want to have a great time with like-minded singers, you'll love ENCORE ROCKS Greater Fairfax, a Rock n Roll Chorus! Repertoire selections include music you loved growing up - and maybe a few things your kids loved, too! ENCORE ROCKS Fairfax rehearses Fridays at 10:30am.  The location has moved to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton, VA 22124

AAKEL 3927-1The fee is $175 and will include 15 90-minute rehearsals, expert instruction under the direction of David Lang, who also conducts the Encore Chorale of Reston, sheet music, a rehearsal CD in your voice part, and concert performance for friends, family and the community at the end of the 15 week session.

All music will be three and four part harmony, challenging and educating singers of all abilities and skill levels. There are no auditions, singers may be seated for rehearsals and performances if they wish, and you do not need to be able to read music to participate.

Plan to join us in September 2017!  The first rehearsal is Friday, September 8, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. - Noon.  The location is Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Road in Oakton.

David Lang Conducts Encore ROCKS Fairfax

langEncore ROCKS Reston is now Encore ROCKS Fairfax - with a new conductor, David Lang.

Conductor Biography
David Brian Lang is a prominent choral conductor, vocal coach, professional accompanist and concert organist throughout the greater Washington area. He has prepared choruses for performance in numerous concert halls, and worked with such notable conductors as Emil de Cou, Placido Domingo, Marvin Hamlisch, Kurt Masur, and Leonard Slatkin. Lang is now in his sixth season as artistic director for The Reston Chorale. He also serves as keyboard artist for Washington Hebrew Congregation and is sales director for Rodgers digital organs, Roland instruments, and Ruffatti pipe organs through R. A. Daffer Church Organs, Inc. of Jessup, MD.

Mr. Lang previously served as director of music and master of the choristers for Saint John Catholic Church in McLean (2005-2014); as director of music for Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Great Falls and as organist for Saint John's Episcopal Church - Lafayette Square (The Church of the Presidents). A native of Burlington, NC., Mr. Lang served as director of music / principal organist for the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Assumption (1983-2000), and as artistic director for The Louisville Youth Choir.

Mr. Lang received a Bachelor of Music degree in choral music education and sacred music from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, and a Master of Music degree in organ performance from the University of Louisville. He has studied under such keyboard luminaries as H. Max Smith, Melvin Dickinson, Marilyn Keiser, and Bruce Neswick. Mr. Lang has been a featured performing artist and guest conductor for conventions of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), Music Educators National Conference (MENC), and National Pastoral Musicians (NPM).

Encore ROCKS Spring Performance!

The Rockers outdid themselves at their first spring concert on Sunday April 23rd at the Church of the Epiphany in Washington, DC. The Reston Rockers were out in force, joining the Rockers from Alexandria, Annapolis, DC and Glen Echo. Watch the entire presentation and be impressed!

AAA-KEL 5488-1-1The Encore ROCKS choruses of Alexandria, Annapolis, DC, Glen Echo and Reston performed one of two spring concerts at the Church of the Epiphany in Washington, DC on May 23, 2017. Encore Associate Artistic Director Jeffery Dokken Conducted.  Also featured was the Encore ROCKS Band: Ken Hall, Guitar; Raice McLeod, Drums; and John Starr, Bass and Wind Synthesizer.   Raleigh Romine narrated "Rock Roll and Remember," a tribute to Dick Clark and American Bandstand.
