Encore ROCKS Towson


Encore Rocks LogoIf you love to sing, love Rock and Roll, and want to have a great time with like-minded singers, you'll love the new Encore ROCKS Towson, a Rock n Roll Chorus! The fall selections will include music you loved growing up - and maybe a few things your kids loved, too!  ENCORE ROCKS Towson will begin rehearsals Monday, September 11th, 2017 at 1:00 - 2:30pm at Towson Methodist Church, 501 Hampton Lane, Towson, MD 21286 Beltway Exit 27B Dulaney Valley Road.  

The fee  is $175 and will include 15 90-minute rehearsals, expert instruction under the direction of Conductor Doug Byerly, sheet music, a rehearsal CD in your voice part, and concert performance for friends, family and the community at the end of the 15 week session. Click here to register.  You may pay online with a credit card, mail in your check, or pay at the first rehearsal.


All music will be three and four part harmony, challenging and educating singers of all abilities and skill levels. There are no auditions, singers may be seated for rehearsals and performances if they wish, and you do not need to be able to read music to participate.

Doug Byerly Conducts Encore ROCKS Towson

As a music director, Doug has led professional, community and academic companies in productions of opera, operetta and musical theater (over 100 productions to date). He has over 25 years of classroom experience, having taught elementary, middle school, high school (including music magnet and arts schools) and college. He is a Professor of Music at Anne Arundel Community College, where he directs the AACC Concert Choir, Opera AACC, and teaches music theory, voice and conducting.  Byerly is the former director of Choirs and Adjunct Professor of Voice at Washington College and the Director of Music for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Doug is the Director of Music at St. John the Evangelist in Hydes, Maryland.  He also serves on the board of trustees for the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra.  Byerly holds his Master of Music from the Peabody Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music from Western Michigan University. He lives in Towson, Maryland with his beautiful wife Christine.
