Special Opportunity
Dear singers,
I have been in conversations with Classical Movements, a very well regarded company who plans choral and orchestra tours for major organizations including National Symphony, major university choral programs and auditioned choirs. In short,  Classical Movements loves what we are all about and they have put together a splendid Eastern Canadian trip for May 2018. Encore will be performing 3 large concerts on our concert tour!! The date of departure will be near May 25, 2018- though exact dates have not yet been confirmed.
The trip begins with a flight to Montreal, where we will enjoy a tour of the area and perform a concert in a high-profile venue, perhaps Norte-Dame Basilica of Montreal. Stunning!
We will also include the picturesque town of Laval, known for its thriving arts scene, museums, art galleries, and intricate architecture. We will perform a concert in Laval.
Then off by bus or train along the St. Lawrence River to Quebec!  We will enjoy a city tour. This day also includes a sound check for our third big concert.
The sixth day we tour around the Quebec area including Montmorency Falls. Day 7 we will have free time to wonder around Quebec.
I am including a full description of the tour below.
Depart on flight to Montreal.  Arrive in Montreal. You will be met by your Tour Manager. You will enjoy an orientation tour of Montreal. Check-in to the hotel. Free time to rest and relax.  Welcome Dinner.  Overnight in Montreal.
Breakfast at the hotel.Today enjoy a fantastic sightseeing tour of Montreal highlighting Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal, St. Joseph's Oratory, Jacques Cartier Square and McGill University. Ascended by Jacques Cartier in 1535, Mount Royal is the jewel of Mount Royal Park.  Group lunch. Acoustic rehearsal and sound check.

A UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site, Quebec City has gabled buildings dating back to the 1600s and narrow, winding cobblestone streets. Amble through airy plazas- past fountains and statues- as you make your way to Terrasse Dufferin, a wide promenade straddling the cliff top with fantastic views of the St. Lawrence River below. Presiding over it all is the Chateau Frontenac, a grand hotel reminiscent of a French castle.  Group lunch.  Acoustic rehearsal and sound check.

Anne de Beaupre, make a stop at Montmorency Falls (Parc de la Chute Montmorency). Take the cable car or walk to the top of the falls, where you can stand on a bridge above the cascade and watch the water drop 27 stories- an impressive sight.Group lunch.    Return to Quebec City.  Farewell Dinner. Overnight in the Quebec City area.
Breakfast at the hotel. You will have free time to wander the streets of this quaint setting which is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Check out of the hotel.  Group lunch depending on time of departure. Transfer to the airport. We may transfer back to Montreal for your flight home. Depart on your flight back home.  Arrive home.
Classical Movements will make sure our concerts are a great success. Price of $2,800. Includes transportation, six nights for twin room accommodations, and most food.
In order for Classical Movements to continue to plan our concert tour, Encore will have to have the commitment of at least 75 singers that make up a well- balanced choral sound.
With that being said, I need to hear from you by July 8 with your full commitment to this trip.

Encore Our Story WEB

As of September 2016, Encore has fifteen Chorale locations in the DC/VA/MD area, as well as five new Encore ROCKS locations. Additionally, Encore continues to expand across the nation, with Affiliate Chorales at Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson, OH; Reading, PA; Northeast Iowa School of Music, Dubuque, IA; Littleton and Highlands Ranch, CO; Santa Clarita, CA; and six in the Chicago area. With over 1,200 singers, we believe we are the largest choral organization in the U.S.!

If you have sung sometime in your life, want to return to singing, or have never sung outside the shower, join our other music enthusiasts for weekly instructional class/rehearsals with our seasoned and professional conductors.

The Chorale classes, designed for adults 55 years and above, are educational as well as enjoyable. Participants learn proper breathing techniques and how to improve their voice through correct tone production as their conductor guides them through weekly rehearsals in three- and four-part singing. The season concludes with combined performances with other Chorales as well as local concerts at most Chorale locations.

Be a part of a true harmonic convergence-if you can talk, you can sing!
