The Encore Board of Directors is pleased to announce the establishment of the Jeanne Kelly Founder's Fund named in honor of Encore's Founder and Artistic Director.

Jeanne-trozzo 161203 522-web

As Encore proudly embarks on its 10th Anniversary year of celebration, the Board believes that this is a perfect time to honor a woman who has dedicated over four decades of her life to the pursuit of excellence in the field of music as a performer, conductor, teacher and administrator. Her decade long passion for, and service to, singers over 55 is unparalleled, bringing to the spotlight the magic and power of older adult singers and their valuable contributions to our community.

The Jeanne Kelly Founder’s Fund will support two priorities that Jeanne holds most dear - ensuring conductor excellence and securing future growth and sustainability of the Encore Program, regionally and nationally. As Jeanne reflects on her lifetime of achievements during this 10th Anniversary year, it seems only fitting to recognize all that she has achieved in service to thousands of Encore singers who have been given a voice. An invitation to participate in this fund is being mailed to you soon. No gift is too large or too small. Your participation is what matters. Your gift will help new singers just like you discover Encore's program and experience the joy that singing can bring to their lives. Please make your gift to the Jeanne Kelly Founder’s Fund today!

Encore is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All contributions to Encore are tax-deductible.

About Encore

2014-12-23-Kennedy Center-031-1

Encore is dedicated to providing an excellent and accessible artistic environment for older adults, 55 and over, regardless of experience or ability, who seek arts education and performance opportunities under a professional artist. Encore is an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax exempt organization.

All Encore programs are conducted by professional artists who will know how to get the most from their members. So come join the excitement, either as a beginner or at an advanced level. This is an excellent way to learn how to develop or improve your musical abilities, meet new friends, and look forward to an exciting performance schedule.

You’re never too old to try something new—and have the time of your life!

"The denunciation of the young is a necessary part of the hygiene of older people, and greatly assists in the circulation of their blood." Logan Pearsall Smith (1865 - 1946), Afterthoughts (1931) "Age and Death"

As of September 2016, Encore has fifteen Chorale locations in the DC/VA/MD area, as well as five new Encore ROCKS locations. Additionally, Encore continues to expand across the nation, with Affiliate Chorales at Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson, OH; Reading, PA; Northeast Iowa School of Music, Dubuque, IA; Littleton and Highlands Ranch, CO; Santa Clarita, CA; and six in the Chicago area. With over 1,200 singers, we believe we are the largest choral organization in the U.S.!

If you have sung sometime in your life, want to return to singing, or have never sung outside the shower, join our other music enthusiasts for weekly instructional class/rehearsals with our seasoned and professional conductors.

The Chorale classes, designed for adults 55 years and above, are educational as well as enjoyable. Participants learn proper breathing techniques and how to improve their voice through correct tone production as their conductor guides them through weekly rehearsals in three- and four-part singing. The season concludes with combined performances with other Chorales as well as local concerts at most Chorale locations.

Be a part of a true harmonic convergence-if you can talk, you can sing!
